Step into my world of cherished memories and culinary delights as we embark on a journey to rediscover the magic of homemade quiche. From birthday celebrations to cozy family dinners, quiche has always held a special place in my heart. Today, I’m thrilled to share with you my beloved ham and cheese quiche recipe, inviting you to experience the same joy and nostalgia that I’ve treasured since childhood.

Inviting You to Create Memories:

As a child, quiche wasn’t just a dish – it was a symbol of love and celebration. I fondly recall eagerly anticipating my birthday each year, not just for the presents, but for the chance to request my favorite homemade quiche. Now, as I share this recipe with you, I invite you to create your own cherished memories around the kitchen table, where laughter and love abound.

Ingredients for Ham and Cheddar Quiche

  • 1 9-inch pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
  • 6 eggs
  • 3/4 cup cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3/4 pound sliced or diced ham
  • 1 tablespoon sliced scallions (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

A Recipe for Shared Joy:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit, setting the stage for culinary magic to unfold.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, cream, salt, and pepper, infusing each ingredient with love and nostalgia.
  3. If needed, gently nestle the pie crust into a 9-inch pie pan, a canvas for your homemade masterpiece.
  4. Sprinkle a generous portion of shredded cheddar cheese over the bottom of the pie crust, laying the foundation for layers of flavor.
  5. Lovingly arrange the ham and scallions atop the cheese, each ingredient a tribute to the joy of homemade goodness.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the ham and scallions, a symphony of flavors ready to delight your senses.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top, adding a final touch of warmth and comfort.
  8. Bake for 40 minutes, allowing the quiche to transform into a golden masterpiece, ready to be shared with loved ones.
  9. As the aroma fills your kitchen, take a moment to revel in the anticipation of creating new memories around the table.
  10. Allow the quiche to cool for a few minutes. Slice and serve, inviting your loved ones to join in the celebration of homemade goodness.

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Whisk eggs, cream, salt, and pepper.
  3. If the pie crust doesn’t already come in a pie pan, drape it over a 9 inch pie pan and cinch the edges to make a cute crust. Alternatively, you can just use a fork all the way around. That looks good too.
  4. Place 3/4 of the cheese in the bottom of the pie crust.
  5. Top that with the ham and scallions.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the top and top with the remaining cheese.
  7. Bake for 40 minutes until set in the center.
  8. Let cool for 7-10 minutes before slicing and eating!
