Real Food. Real Spending. Real Life.
What We’re Eating
This is where I share the real-life food feeding our family of five right now — the grocery trips, the extra stops, the meal prep, the recipes we try, and how far everything actually gets us.
Some weeks are tight grocery weeks. Some are big stock-up weeks. And some are mostly about looking around the kitchen and realizing we already have plenty.
The goal isn’t to spend as little as possible. I want to use what we’ve already been given well, spend with intention, work toward our goals, and still make food that feels generous and abundant for my family.

Start With What You Have Before You Buy More
Before I grocery shop, I start by checking what we already have, planning meals around it, and figuring out what we actually need.
Then I use my Grocery Budget Calculator to build the list and estimate what the trip should cost before I ever get to checkout.
I bundled that calculator with my Stick to Your Budget Checklist so you can follow the same simple process with your own family.
No surprise totals. Use what you have. Shop with intention. Feel abundant without overbuying.

See What We Actually Buy, Cook & Eat
These videos are the real story — what I bought, what we already had, what I cooked, what everyone actually ate, and whether the groceries stretched as far as I hoped they would.
Our Big August Grocery Restock for a Family of 5 — How Far Will It Get Us?
A bigger grocery trip doesn’t automatically mean we need another big shop next week. Come see what I stocked up on and how I planned to make it stretch.
I Only Spent $47 on Groceries… We Had More Than Enough
A lower grocery spend doesn’t have to mean scarcity. Sometimes the food is already there — we just need to use it.
Enough Can Still Feel Abundant
I’m learning that working toward financial goals doesn’t have to mean constantly feeling like we’re going without.
We can steward what we have, waste less, make thoughtful choices, enjoy really good food, and be grateful for what is already in front of us. More isn’t always the answer.
