I’ve made Marry Me Chicken on the stovetop before, but let me tell you, doing it in the slow cooker takes it to a whole new level. Not only does it free up time, but the chicken gets even more tender, soaking up all those rich, savory flavors. Plus, it’s super easy to prep ahead and let the slow cooker do the work.
Why Slow Cooker Marry Me Chicken Is a Must-Try
There are plenty of reasons why Slow Cooker Marry Me Chicken is a favorite around our house. First off, it’s a one-pot wonder—minimal cleanup, which is a lifesaver on busy weeknights. Second, the combination of juicy chicken, sundried tomatoes, and a creamy sauce is so full of flavor that even my pickiest eaters love it.
The best part? You can easily customize the ingredients. If you don’t have garlic cloves on hand, feel free to use garlic powder. Prefer orzo over ditalini pasta? Go for it! The flexibility of this dish is one of the reasons it’s so great for those days when you need to use what you already have in the pantry.
My Personal Spin on Slow Cooker Marry Me Chicken
So today, I had a bit of extra time at noon and thought, why not make Slow Cooker Marry Me Chicken and get it going early? The boys have swim practice tonight, and instead of stressing about dinner when we get home, I can just scoop out this creamy goodness straight from the crockpot. By searing the chicken first, you lock in all the flavor, and then you let the slow cooker handle the rest—talk about a win-win!
Once the chicken is perfectly tender, I toss in some pasta (I used ditalini, but orzo would work, too) and stir in a generous helping of Parmesan cheese to make the sauce extra cheesy and irresistible. Trust me, you won’t want to skip this step!
How to Make Slow Cooker Marry Me Chicken
Making Slow Cooker Marry Me Chicken is super simple. All you need are a few chicken breasts, some basic seasonings, sundried tomatoes, and a creamy sauce made from heavy cream and broth. If you have about 10 minutes to prep, you’re set for a mouthwatering dinner that’ll cook while you tackle the rest of your busy day.
Here’s the best part—you can set your slow cooker on high for just 2 hours or low for 4-6 hours, so even if you get a late start, dinner is still totally doable.
Perfect for Busy Nights
Whether you’re heading to after-school activities or just want to relax while dinner cooks, Slow Cooker Marry Me Chicken is the perfect meal to add to your weekly rotation. It’s filling, flavorful, and a hit with the whole family, which is always a win in my book. Plus, you’ll love how easy it is to throw together, especially when you don’t have much time but still want something homemade and delicious.
So, if you’re looking for a new, go-to recipe that’s as tasty as it is easy, try this Slow Cooker Marry Me Chicken recipe. Your family will love it, and you’ll love how simple it is to make!

Description
This creamy, flavorful Marry Me Chicken is made even easier in the slow cooker. Tender, juicy chicken is seared for extra flavor, then slow-cooked with sundried tomatoes, Italian seasonings, and a rich creamy sauce. Throw in some pasta at the end for a complete meal ready when you are!
Ingredients
- 2 large chicken breasts, diced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 ½ cups chicken broth (or bone broth)
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
- 1 ½ tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp paprika
- ½ cup sundried tomatoes
- 1 cup ditalini pasta (or orzo)
- ½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
Instructions
-
Sear the Chicken: Season the diced chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. In a large pan over medium-high heat, sear the chicken on all sides until golden brown (about 4-5 minutes). Set aside.
-
Prepare the Sauce: In the bottom of your slow cooker, whisk together the chicken broth and cornstarch to create a slurry. Then mix in the heavy cream, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and paprika.
-
Slow Cook: Place the seared chicken into the slow cooker, followed by the sundried tomatoes on top. Cover and cook on high for 2 hours or low for 4-6 hours, until the chicken is fully cooked through.
-
Add Pasta: About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the ditalini pasta (or orzo) and let it cook until tender.
-
Finish with Parmesan: Stir in the shredded Parmesan cheese just before serving, allowing it to melt into the creamy sauce.
-
Serve & Enjoy: Once the pasta is cooked and the cheese is melted, serve your creamy Marry Me Chicken and enjoy the rich flavors with minimal effort!
