Description

Elevate your fall dinner with this Maple Sausage Stuffed Chicken, a savory delight that combines tender chicken breasts, flavorful maple sausage, and a delicious stuffing. Perfect for cozy family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Chicken Breasts (2 large, boneless and skinless)
  • Packaged Stuffing Mix (2 cups)
  • Maple Sausage (1/2 pound)
  • Onion (1 medium, chopped)
  • Celery (2 stalks, chopped)
  • Apple (1, peeled and diced)
  • Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
  • Seasonings (e.g., Salt, Pepper, Sage, Rosemary)
  • Olive Oil (1 tablespoon)
  • Toothpicks (for securing stuffed chicken)

Instructions

  1. Flatten chicken breasts to an even thickness and season with your choice of seasonings.
  2. In a pan, cook maple sausage using your favorite method (pan or microwave). Remove and set aside.
  3. In a large pan, add olive oil and sauté onions, celery, and apple until softened.
  4. Add minced garlic and continue to cook for another minute.
  5. Add the stuffing mix and cook according to the package instructions.
  6. Once the stuffing is done add the cooked sausage (slice it, if needed) and mix well.
  7. Spoon the stuffing onto each chicken breast, roll, and secure with toothpicks.
  8. Place stuffed chicken in a baking dish, cover with any leftover stuffing, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40-60 minutes or until chicken is fully cooked and juices run clear.

Notes

  • Customize the stuffing with your favorite herbs and spices.
  • Use pork chops as an alternative to chicken for this recipe.
