Kielbasa In A Blanket Is A Must Try

Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe·Leave a Review

When it comes to easy, crowd-pleasing appetizers for the holidays, Kielbasa in a Blanket is a must-try. I love taking the classic pigs in a blanket to the next level by using Kielbasa sausage and wrapping it in buttery crescent roll dough. Then, for an extra punch of flavor, I coat the whole thing in Everything Bagel Seasoning. These bites are super simple to make, and they’re perfect for any holiday gathering or party.

The Twist on a Classic

Kielbasa in a blanket is a fun, easy alternative to the traditional pigs in a blanket. Instead of mini hot dogs, we’re using Kielbasa sausage, which gives the dish a heartier, more savory flavor. This recipe is also a huge time-saver because you don’t have to individually wrap each sausage piece. Simply slice the Kielbasa and wrap it all at once.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Quick and Easy: No need to spend a lot of time wrapping each individual sausage – just slice and wrap in one go!
  • Flavorful: The Everything Bagel Seasoning adds a delightful crunch and savory flavor that’s perfect with the soft crescent dough.
  • Fun Presentation: You can shape it like a Christmas tree for a festive touch or even try a wreath for other occasions.

Perfect for Parties and Holidays

These Kielbasa in a Blanket bites are a great appetizer to make for any gathering. They’re quick to prepare, easy to eat, and sure to be a hit with both kids and adults. I’ve made them for a few family parties, and they always get devoured quickly!

Tips for Success

  • Try Different Seasonings: If you’re not into Everything Bagel Seasoning, feel free to switch it up. I’ve tried garlic powder and Parmesan cheese before, and it was a hit!
  • Make It Your Own: These are also great for dipping into mustard or even BBQ sauce for a twist.

This holiday season, skip the hassle of wrapping individual hot dogs and give this Kielbasa in a Blanket recipe a try. The combination of savory Kielbasa, buttery crescent dough, and the crunchy, garlicky seasoning makes it a simple but standout appetizer. Your guests will love it – and so will you!

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. Slice Kielbasa:

    • Slice the Kielbasa sausage into 1- to 2-inch pieces.
  3. Wrap Kielbasa:

    • Unroll the crescent dough and cut each triangle into smaller strips that can easily wrap around each slice of Kielbasa. Wrap each slice of Kielbasa with a strip of dough.
  4. Season:

    • Roll the wrapped Kielbasa in Everything Bagel Seasoning or your preferred seasoning mix.
  5. Shape the Tree:

    • Arrange the wrapped Kielbasa slices on a baking sheet in the shape of a Christmas tree (or another fun shape like a wreath).
  6. Bake:

    • Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through. If desired, brush the baked dough with melted butter for extra flavor and shine.
  7. Serve:

    • Let cool slightly before serving. Arrange the Kielbasa in a blanket tree on a platter, and enjoy with a side of mustard or your favorite dipping sauce.

Tips & Variations

  • Seasoning Options: You can experiment with different seasonings, such as garlic powder, Italian seasoning, or even ranch seasoning for a fun variation.
  • Shape Ideas: While a Christmas tree is fun for the holidays, you can also shape this into a wreath or a star for a unique presentation.
  • Make Ahead: You can prepare these ahead of time, store them in the fridge, and bake them just before serving.
  • Cook Time: 15 minutes
