Dive into the world of culinary delight with this Firefighter Chicken Spaghetti Casserole recipe—an absolute game-changer for your dinner table. This casserole is not only hearty but also bursting with rich flavors that will leave you craving more.

How to Make This Firefighter Chicken Spaghetti Recipe

To kick off this culinary adventure, gather the following ingredients:

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons dried parsley flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 12 ounces spaghetti
  • 5 cups cubed or shredded chicken (rotisserie chicken recommended)
  • 3 stalks celery, sliced
  • 1 fresh diced onion
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1.5 cups crushed Corn Flakes

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees—this is where the magic begins.

In a large mixing bowl, combine sour cream, condensed cream of chicken soup and condensed cream of mushroom soup

Add whole milk, dried parsley flakes, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Give it a good mix until the flavors dance together.

Add shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese to the mixture. Watch as the cheeses create a creamy symphony.

Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions, breaking the noodles in half for easy casserole blending. Let them drain and cool slightly.

Add the cooked spaghetti, cubed or shredded chicken (opt for a rotisserie chicken for that extra flavor), sliced celery, and diced onion to the bowl. Mix it all up, allowing the ingredients to mingle in a flavorful union.

Transfer this delightful mixture to a generously sized casserole dish, ensuring it’s ready for the feast that’s about to unfold.

Melt butter and mix it with crushed Corn Flakes until each flake is coated in buttery goodness. Sprinkle this mixture evenly on top of the casserole, creating a crispy golden layer.

With everything in place, bake the casserole uncovered for 45-50 minutes. Watch in anticipation as the Corn Flakes turn into a crunchy, golden masterpiece.

What to Serve with this Firefighter Chicken Spaghetti Recipe

My favorite way to serve Firefighter Chicken Spaghetti is with a simple garden salad on the side. But, if that’s not for you, here are a few other ideas:

  • Lemon Roasted Asparagus
  • Crock Pot Green Beans and Bacon
  • Air Fryer Frozen Brussels Sprouts

Make it Healthier:

I’m always looking for new ways to add veggies to my dishes. Here are some ideas to add more nutrients to this dish or make it lighter:

  • Use Campbells Healthy Request cream of soup.
  • You can use greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
  • Skip the topping or use a lower carb crumble if necessary.
  • You can use healthier pasta that is mushroom based or different hight protein pastas.k
  • Serve it alongside your favorite veggie!
  • Try adding some chopped zucchini or spinach to the mixture!
  • Use cauliflower rice (I just buy the frozen stuff and microwave it!), instead of pasta!

Make it Kid Friendly:

I always recommend you adjust recipes based on what your family likes. If your kids or even other family members are weary of this dish here are some swap recommendations to get them trying new things without serving a completely different dish:

  • Top the dish with some shredded cheddar for a cheesy twist!
  • Leave the topping off, if textures are an issue.
  • If your kids love pasta with red sauce, you can mix some into theirs to give them something familiar looking.
  • Maybe this isn’t the best for manners, but it’s always fun to show them how to twirl and slurp spaghetti their!
  • Cut the noodles up really small, sometimes something kids can put on a spoon is easier to eat.
  • Grated parmesan would be good on this dish. My kids love anything covered in parmesan cheese.

Swap Ideas:

  • Use Cream of Mushroom or Cream of Chicken Soup depending on what you have/like.
  • You can also make this dish with canned chicken. It’s a great way to use pantry friendly canned chicken and I bet you can’t tell the difference!
  • If you don’t have cream of chicken soup on hand, you can always make your own using this recipe: homemade cream of chicken soup
  • If you don’t have corn flakes, you could totally top this with ritz crackers!
  • Just add a little celery salt or go without, if you don’t have fresh celery.
  • Use 1 tsp onion powder instead of fresh onion.
  • Any kind of pasta will work in this dish, or you could even use rice.

Shopping Tips:

  • If rotisserie chicken is on sale, you can stock up on it, shred it, and freeze it for later!
  • I like to stock up on “cream of” soups when they are on sale. They are a great base for many dishes and sauces.
  • Go generic, when you can! Nothing in this casserole needs to be brand name.

As always, please share your own recommendations on how to make this dish healthier, more kid friendly, swap ideas, and budget shopping tips in the comments!
