Extra Fudgy Baking Chocolate Brownie Recipe – A Nostalgic Delight

Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe·Leave a Review

Hey chocolate lovers! Ready to whip up a batch of brownies that’ll teleport you back to the good ol’ days of school lunches? Let’s get real – this isn’t your health nut’s dessert, but who cares when it’s all about indulging in those chewy, fudgy memories?

Fudgy Brownies coming from a pan

How to Make This Baking Chocolate Brownie Recipe

Start by nuking one cup of butter and eight ounces of baking chocolate until it’s all melty goodness – because microwaving is the shortcut to happiness, in this case at least. 2 minutes will do the trick. Make sure to use a microwavable container and cover it so the butter doesn’t go everywhere.

Grease a 9×13 pan (or grab some parchment paper for an easy cleanup). Bust out your electric mixer, blend five eggs, three cups of sugar, and a splash of vanilla until it’s all fluffy and irresistible.

adding chocolate to fudgy brownie batter

Add the melted butter and chocolate to the mixture until it’s fully incorporated.

adding walnuts to fudgy brownie batter in a kitchenaid mixer

Slowly toss in one and a half cups of all-purpose flour and two cups of walnuts – because nuts in brownies are a game-changer.

putting fudgy brownies in the oven

Pop that bad boy in the oven at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. You’ll know it’s ready when the center gives you those fudgy crumbs that say, “Eat me!”

Now, let’s talk frosting – the icing on the cake, or in this case, the brownie. In a saucepan, mix one and a quarter cups of sugar with one cup of heavy cream. Simmer until the sugar bows down and dissolves (about 3 minutes). Lower the heat, let it simmer for seven minutes.

Next, throw in five ounces of unsweetened baking chocolate, half a cup of butter, and a dash of vanilla. You’ll be staring at chocolate velvet – not kidding. Put the frosting in the fridge and mix every 5 minutes for about 30 minutes.

Once the brownies cool, slather that divine frosting over the top. This isn’t a guilt-free dessert, but the taste will make you forget about counting calories. So, grab your ingredients, hit the kitchen, and make some delicious brownies that’ll have you saying, “Why didn’t I do this sooner?

What to Serve with this Baking Chocolate Brownie Recipe

Grab a hot coffee or a glass of milk and you’ll be so pleased!

SWAP IDEAS:

  • You can use your favorite 1:1 gluten free flour, if you’re looking for a GF option.
  • You can also use your favorite 1:1 sweetener instead of sugar.
  • Feel free to remove the walnuts, if you don’t have them or don’t like them!
  • You can also add chocolate chips or any other additions you like (share your favorite below!)

SHOPPING TIPS:

  • Baking chocolate isn’t the least expensive chocolate. I try to grab a few of the bars for my pantry when I see them on sale.
  • Butter is another one that I’m buying a bunch of when I find it on sale! You can also freeze butter.

As always, please share your own recommendations on how to make this dish healthier, more kid friendly, swap ideas, and budget shopping tips in the comments!
