cookies and wafers in clear square dessert cups with oreo cookie balls

If you’ve ever hosted a holiday party, Friendsgiving, or kids’ get-together, you know how chaotic dessert time can get. That’s exactly why I started making these Cookie Cups—little individual dessert cups filled with a mix of store-bought treats and my homemade Oreo cookie balls. They look adorable, they’re completely customizable, and the best part? You can make them entirely ahead of time.

I served these cookie cups at my Friendsgiving party this year and they disappeared so fast. Everyone loved that each cup had a little bit of everything—crunchy, creamy, chocolatey, and nostalgic. And parents told me their kids loved being able to grab their own cup and go. This dessert is all about simple ingredients, zero stress, and maximum fun, which is really my kind of hosting.

🍪 Cookie Cups Recipe

These cookie cups combine a handful of simple treats—Biscoff cookies, wafer rolls, chocolate-covered cashews, Simple Mills grahams, and homemade Oreo cookie balls—layered into small clear cups. They’re cute, portable, and a total crowd-pleaser.

🧁 Ingredients

Feel free to adjust quantities based on how many cups you’re making. This list is flexible!

cookie cups
  • Small clear plastic cups (I always link the ones I use)
  • Biscoff cookies
  • Wafer rolls (any brand)
  • Chocolate-covered cashews
  • Simple Mills sweet thins or graham crackers
  • Homemade Oreo Cookie Balls (recipe linked)

Optional add-ins:

  • Chocolate-covered almonds
  • Mini peanut butter cups
  • White chocolate pretzels
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Holiday M&Ms

🥄 Instructions

  1. Prep the cups: Line your clear plastic cups on a large tray. This makes assembly quick and easy.
  2. Add the base: Break a Biscoff cookie into large chunks and add to each cup.
  3. Add your mix-ins: Drop in a few chocolate-covered cashews and a couple of pieces of Simple Mills grahams.
  4. Place a wafer roll: I love adding one standing upright—it looks tall and elegant.
  5. Add the star of the show: Place one homemade Oreo cookie ball into each cup. This is what everyone gets excited about!
  6. Chill: Cover the tray with plastic wrap and refrigerate until serving. They stay fresh up to 48 hours.
  7. Serve: Set them out on a dessert table or put one at each place setting for a fun surprise.

🎉 Hosting Tips

✔ Make them ahead: These cookie cups hold up beautifully in the fridge.
✔ Perfect for kids: No sticky fingers and no crumbs everywhere—everything stays contained.
✔ Great for portion control: Each guest gets just enough of everything without being overwhelmed.

❤️ Why Everyone Loves These Cookie Cups

They’re just fun. There’s something about having your own little dessert cup filled with treats that feels festive and thoughtful. Plus, guests love discovering the Oreo cookie ball hidden inside—it’s like a bite-sized truffle.

Whether you’re hosting Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, a birthday party, or a movie night, this is one of the easiest desserts you’ll ever make.
