Bloody Mary Deviled Eggs – The Ultimate Party Appetizer

If you’re looking to impress at your next holiday gathering—whether it’s Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or Memorial Day—you need to make these Bloody Mary Deviled Eggs.

These aren’t your average deviled eggs. They pack all the bold, savory, zesty flavor of a classic Bloody Mary—in bite-sized form—and come fully loaded with garnishes that make them look as stunning as they taste.

Why You’ll Love Bloody Mary Deviled Eggs

  • All the Bloody Mary flavor you love—no glass or alcohol required
  • An easy make-ahead appetizer perfect for potlucks
  • A total crowd-pleaser—seriously, everyone will be raving
  • Completely customizable with your favorite toppings (hello, shrimp, bacon, even lobster!)

When I brought these to a get-together, my friends went absolutely bananas over them. One person would try one and immediately turn to the next:
“You HAVE to try these!”

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • 8 large pasture-raised organic eggs, hard-boiled
  • 3–4 tablespoons mayo (add more if the mix feels dry)
  • 2 teaspoons yellow mustard
  • 1 ½ teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2–3 slices of pickled jalapeño, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons pickled jalapeño juice
  • Pinch of smoked paprika
  • Tajin chili lime seasoning, for rimming the egg whites
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 6 slices of crispy bacon, cut into small pieces
  • 6 green olives
  • 6 gherkin pickles
  • 2 stalks of celery, cut into 12 thin sections

How to Make Them

  1. Hard-boil your eggs (recipes below), peel them, and slice in half. Remove the yolks and add them to a food processor.
  2. Add mayo, mustard, Worcestershire, tomato paste, jalapeños, jalapeño juice, paprika, salt, and pepper. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Taste and adjust—you want that bold, tangy Bloody Mary flavor to shine through!
  4. Discard 4 of the egg white halves (or eat them with a little salt and pepper like I do!).
  5. Dip the remaining egg white halves in Tajin seasoning for an eye-catching rim and extra punch of flavor.
  6. Fill each egg with the yolk mixture. I use a piping tool for that restaurant-style look, but a spoon or zip-top bag with the corner cut works great too. They even sell piping bags at the Dollar Tree!
  7. Top each egg with a piece of celery, a crispy bacon slice, and alternate between green olives and gherkins.

How to Cook Perfect Hard-Boiled Eggs (3 Ways)

To make great deviled eggs, you need perfectly cooked hard-boiled eggs—easy to peel with no green rings around the yolks. Here are three foolproof methods I’ve used over and over again:

Stovetop Method

This is the classic way, and it works well if you don’t have any gadgets.

  1. Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water (about 1 inch above the eggs).
  2. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Once boiling, turn off the heat, cover with a lid, and let sit for 10–12 minutes.
  4. Drain the hot water and immediately transfer the eggs to an ice bath for at least 5–10 minutes.
  5. Peel under cold running water for best results.

Instant Pot Hard Boiled Eggs

This is my favorite when I need to do a big batch—the shells slide right off!

  1. Place 1 cup of water in the Instant Pot.
  2. Set the eggs on a trivet or in a steamer basket.
  3. Cook on High Pressure for 4 minutes, then let sit for 5 minutes before quick-releasing any remaining pressure.
  4. Immediately transfer to an ice bath for 5–10 minutes.
  5. Peel and enjoy!

Steamer Method

Steaming is super reliable and great if you don’t want to babysit a pot.

  1. Add about an inch of water to a pot and bring it to a boil.
  2. Place eggs in a steamer basket over the boiling water.
  3. Cover and steam for 13–14 minutes for fully hard-boiled eggs.
  4. Move to an ice bath for 5–10 minutes.
  5. Peel when cool.

My Go-To Deviled Egg Platter (aka: The Unsung Hero of Every Party)

white deviled egg platter with deviled eggs on it

Let’s talk about presentation for a second. You can make the best-tasting deviled eggs in the world, but serving them on a proper platter just takes things to the next level. I have this beautiful white porcelain deviled egg tray that was a wedding gift, and let me tell you—it’s worth its weight in gold. This platter has been used time and time again for every major holiday and party, and it still looks as elegant and timeless as the day I got it.

It fits the eggs perfectly, keeps them in place (no sliding around on a dinner plate!), and always gets compliments. If you’re someone who hosts or brings dishes to gatherings, get yourself one or two! They make great gifts for newlyweds or anyone who loves entertaining. Total win-win.

Bloody Mary Deviled Egg Topping Ideas

This recipe is very customizable, which is what makes it fun! Think of your favorite Bloody Mary garnishes—those over-the-top skewers with all the goodies—and turn them into toppings for your deviled eggs. Here are some ideas to inspire you:

  • Cooked shrimp – A classic Bloody Mary garnish and an instant upgrade
  • Pepperoncini or banana peppers – For a zesty bite
  • Mini mozzarella balls – Creamy and cool against the heat
  • Crispy prosciutto – A fancier twist on bacon
  • Pickled green beans or asparagus – Adds crunch and tang
  • Hot sauce drizzle – Just a touch for those who like it spicy
  • Mini lobster claws – For a special occasion splurge

Don’t be afraid to get creative! These are just a base—use what you love or what you have on hand.

What to Serve Alongside Bloody Mary Deviled Eggs

Are you planning a party spread or need a few more dishes for a potluck or holiday? These are three of my go-to recipes that pair beautifully with these deviled eggs. They’re just as crowd-pleasing, easy to make ahead, and look amazing on a buffet table.

1. Fruit and Chocolate Charcuterie Board

fruit and cheese board with watermelon, strawberries, kiwi, blueberries, blackberries, and oranges on a round platter with chocolate truffles and bark

Fresh, colorful fruit paired with chunks of dark chocolate, chocolate-covered almonds, and maybe a little whipped ricotta or yogurt dip? Yes, please. This board is beautiful and gives everyone something sweet to snack on without needing dessert plates.

2. Grinder Sliders

These are mini sandwiches packed with deli meats, melty cheese, and that signature grinder salad with red onion, banana peppers, and Italian dressing. They’re easy to prep in batches and perfect for game day or any casual celebration.

3. Roasted Tomato Crostini with Ricotta

tomato crostini with ricotta and balsamic glaze

This one’s for the tomato lovers. Slow-roasted tomatoes on toasted baguette slices with creamy ricotta and a drizzle of balsamic glaze—fancy enough for a holiday, easy enough for a weeknight.

Perfect for Every Holiday and Party

Whether you’re headed to a summer BBQ, a Christmas brunch, or a Mother’s Day gathering, these deviled eggs are your secret weapon. They travel well, can be made ahead, and are guaranteed to disappear fast.

Try them once, and you’ll never bring plain deviled eggs again.

Save this recipe for your next event and don’t forget to get creative with your toppings. Let me know in the comments how you made them your own!

So good and different! Got a ton of compliments on these. I did alternate a gherkin and a green olive.

Add 1 tsp of prepared horseradish for the full Bloody Mary flavor profile.

    Amazing
Everyone gobbled them up and demanded the recipe. You must try this. Do not use the tomato past.
