Description

So much easier than cookies, these bars are so sweet and delicious. Even better, you can add any of your favorite mix-ins like chocolate chips or walnuts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup room temperature butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 cups of old fashioned oats
  • up to 2 cups of mix-ins like chocolate chips, walnuts, or craisins.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix butter, brown sugar, and sugar in an electric mixer with he paddle attachment.
  3. Once well mixed, add the eggs and vanilla.
  4. Separately mix the salt, baking powder, baking soda, oats, and flour.
  5. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the mixer until well incorporated.
  6. If you want to add anything additional, add it to the mixer and mix until evenly incorporated.
  7. Grease a 9×9 pan.
  8. Add the batter to the pan and spread evenly.
  9. Bake for 25 minutes.
  10. Allow to cool and slice into bars.
