Welcome to this week’s fresh, flavorful, budget conscious, family friendly meal plan!
I was just reading that a quarter of Americans are skipping meals due to inflation and 80% of Americans have seen a notable increase in grocery costs. It seriously sucks, and it’s not getting any easier. I’ve been hacking my grocery budget for years, and unfortunately, one thing I do know, is that the grocery stores aren’t planning to help us out, and neither is the government. This one’s on us.
I do have some amazing news for you, though. I’ve been working on taking all of my knowledge that continues to save my family $225 or more each month and turning it into a system that literally anyone can implement. So if you’re ready to take it upon yourself to make a change, fight inflation, and stop overspending, click here to learn more. I can’t wait to help you save hundreds each month and make your money yours again. Click the button below!
What to Expect:
Welcome to our family friendly meal plan! As a household of two parents and three growing boys, meal planning isn’t just helpful; it’s essential! I’ve tailored this plan to accommodate the needs of a family of five, drawing from personal experience. Meal planning is a cornerstone of our routine for three key reasons.
- #1: Firstly, it significantly reduces stress by eliminating the daily dinner dilemma—we always know what’s on the menu, and all the ingredients are ready and waiting.
- #2: It’s a budget-friendly approach, cutting down on takeout expenses and impromptu grocery runs.
- #3: It helps minimize food waste by ensuring we use what we have and plan meals around existing ingredients.
If you’re curious about how we execute our meal planning strategy, be sure to check out my family’s approach. I hope this plan not only simplifies your week but also brings joy to your table with delicious recipes!

What’s Included in Each Family Friendly Meal Plan:
Each weekly meal plan includes dinners for 6 out of 7 days (one day is for leftovers) and 2 breakfast options and a sweet treat to try. I don’t include a lot of breakfast and lunch options because we rely heavily one “One Month in One Day Meal Prep For Busy Parents” method and I prep all of those once a month! (find out how we do it here)
This Weeks Meals:

Tuesday: These Black Bean Chicken Enchiladas can be made with or without the chicken and they will be delicious either way!
Wednesday: It’s all chicken to start the week but all different flavors! These slow cooker chicken parm sandwiches are perfect for a busy day and take just minutes to assemble!
Thursday: This is my go-to recipe for the can of chickpeas you’ve been eyeing. It’s definitely time to put them to good use and this easy Chana Masala won’t disappoint!
Friday: Fish sticks are on sale in my area this week. That means fish Stick Tacos are on the menu! Don’t knock em till you try them! They are the perfect budget friendly treat!
Saturday or Sunday (one night is leftovers): In my emails this week, I’ve been talking all about childhood nostalgia and the steak my parents used to make. This is the recipe for juicy Marinated London Broil I was talking about! Pair it with my mom’s Famous Tomato Salad and Roasted Potatoes and you’ll be in heaven!
For Breakfast:
It’s been too long since I’ve made these Savory Cottage Cheese Muffins. It’s time to whip up another batch and enjoy all week long!
These Huevos Rancheros are the perfect use for leftover tortillas if you have some from the Enchiladas!
For a Sweet Treat: Make up a double batch of these oatmeal cookie bars and freeze some so you’re ahead of the game next time you need to bring something to a potluck!
I hope you have the most magnificent week and eat well for less!
