Welcome to this week’s fresh, flavorful, budget conscious, family friendly meal plan! I hope you had a delightful Mother’s Day filled with love and cherished moments with family. As we dive into the whirlwind of end-of-school-year festivities, I’m sure your schedule is starting to resemble a spinning top! My own son’s calendar is jam-packed with activities; we even had a wild Crazy Hair Day recently – check out the snapshot below! With all the chaos that comes with wanting to create magical memories for our kids while still holding onto shreds of our sanity, I’ve got your back. In this week’s Family Friendly Meal Plan, I’ve whipped up an effortless meal plan brimming with my favorite mom hacks for those days when “lazy” is the only option. Together, we’ve got this!
What to Expect:
Welcome to our family friendly meal plan! As a household of two parents and three growing boys, meal planning isn’t just helpful; it’s essential! I’ve tailored this plan to accommodate the needs of a family of five, drawing from personal experience. Meal planning is a cornerstone of our routine for three key reasons.
- #1: Firstly, it significantly reduces stress by eliminating the daily dinner dilemma—we always know what’s on the menu, and all the ingredients are ready and waiting.
- #2: It’s a budget-friendly approach, cutting down on takeout expenses and impromptu grocery runs.
- #3: It helps minimize food waste by ensuring we use what we have and plan meals around existing ingredients.
If you’re curious about how we execute our meal planning strategy, be sure to check out my family’s approach. I hope this plan not only simplifies your week but also brings joy to your table with delicious recipes!
What’s Included in Each Family Friendly Meal Plan:
Each weekly meal plan includes dinners for 6 out of 7 days (one day is for leftovers) and 2 breakfast options and a sweet treat to try. I don’t include a lot of breakfast and lunch options because we rely heavily one “One Month in One Day Meal Prep For Busy Parents” method and I prep all of those once a month! (find out how we do it here)

This Week’s Plan:
Monday: Pesto Chicken Bowls
Tuesday: Lazy Enchiladas
Wednesday: Big Mac Bowls
Thursday: 7 Can Soup
Friday: Lazy Chicken Parmesan with a garden salad
Saturday/Sunday (pick one day for leftovers): Slow Cooker Enchilada Casserole (don’t worry this isn’t much like the lazy enchiladas)
Breakfast Options: With everything so crazy I recommend just doing a one month in on day meal prep (find out how). But, if that’s not your thing, make up these cottage cheese muffins to make mornings a breeze and serve the kids these breakfast banana splits that are super fun but take no time at all to put together.
Dessert: Doubletree Cookies
I shared this on Instagram. Follow me there for more daily updates!
Monday: This Pesto Chicken Bowl may feel fancy but it’s actually very little work and packed with flavor!
Tuesday: Lazy Enchiladas are a family favorite when times get busy! They utilized frozen burritos and canned sauce to make it a breeze to whip up!
Wednesday: This Big Mac Bowl is takeout without the takeout and all you need to do is brown some ground beef and chop up veggies! Easy peasy!
Thursday: 7 Can Soup is exactly as it sounds! You throw 7 cans in a slow cooker and dinner is ready a few hours later. Doesn’t get much easier!
Friday: Another super lazy, but super delicious casserole, Lazy Chicken Parmesan is always a huge hit in my house and I just love that you don’t need to bread and fry!
Saturday or Sunday (one night is leftovers): Make up an enchilada casserole again because it’s honestly just so easy, delicious, and pantry friendly. After last weeks festivities, you need a real cooking break this weekend!
For Breakfast:
At a busy time like this, I truly recommend doing a One Month In One Day Meal Prep to make things super easy on yourself for breakfast and lunch all month. But, If it’s not your thing, prepping these muffins just for this week, will be a HUGE help!
This one is not JUST for the kids. These Breakfast Banana Splits are super easy to throw together and they feel so fun!
For a Sweet Treat: These Double Tree copycat cookies are great to make up a batch or two and freeze to snack on all month!
I hope you have the most magnificent week and eat well for less!
