Irresistible Oatmeal Cookies: Inspired by the DoubleTree Signature Cookie Recipe

Filed Under: dessert March 2, 2024

Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe

Honestly, I made these before I discovered cookie bars, so they’re a little more work than I plan to do in the future, but that’s okay – they’re definitely worth it. And don’t worry, it’s not a lot of work, just a normal cookie amount of work. These cookies are reminiscent of the ones at DoubleTree but have more of an oatmeal flair to them, and I’m not mad about it. They’re truly delicious, reminiscent of the DoubleTree signature cookie recipe, and I can’t wait to share the recipe with you.

Who can resist the allure of a warm, freshly baked oatmeal cookie? With a hint of nostalgia and a touch of indulgence, these oatmeal cookies, inspired by the iconic DoubleTree signature cookie recipe, are here to elevate your baking game. Let’s dive into the recipe and discover how to create these delightful treats that strike the perfect balance between comfort and flavor.

What You Need To Make Cookies Reminiscent of the Doubletree Signature Cookie Recipe:

  • 2 sticks softened butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 cups chopped walnuts

Instructions:

First things first – preheat your oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. We’re about to create some cookie magic!

In a large mixing bowl (or use your trusty electric mixer), let’s cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until they’re beautifully fluffy and combined.

Now, in a separate bowl, let’s mix together our dry ingredients – the flour, rolled oats, baking soda, salt, and a hint of cinnamon. Trust me, this blend is going to add that perfect touch of coziness to our cookies.

Next up, crack those eggs into our butter-sugar mix, add the vanilla extract, and a splash of fresh lemon juice. Give it all a good mix until it’s nice and creamy.

Slowly add our dry ingredients into the buttery goodness, mixing as you go. We want a smooth and cohesive dough that’s just begging to be turned into cookies!

Time to make things even more irresistible – fold in those chocolate chips and chopped walnuts. Can you smell that heavenly aroma already?

Grab your baking sheets and line them with parchment paper – this will make cleanup a breeze later on.

Using a spoon or a cookie scoop, plop dollops of dough onto your prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Go ahead, get creative with your cookie shapes!

Pop those baking sheets into the oven and let the magic happen for about 21 minutes, or until your cookies are golden brown and heavenly.

    The Prefect Cookie!

Once they’re out of the oven, resist the urge to dive in immediately (I know, it’s tough!). Let them cool on the baking sheet for about an hour – this step is crucial for that perfect cookie texture.
