Description

This Christmas Tree Spinach Dip is a festive and fun twist on your typical holiday appetizer. The combination of a pizza dough tree shape and creamy spinach dip inside makes it both delicious and visually stunning. Perfect for family gatherings, parties, or holiday celebrations, this savory dip brings together the flavors of warm, golden pizza dough and creamy spinach dip, topped with a buttery, cheesy glaze. Your guests (and kids) will love this easy yet impressive holiday treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans Pillsbury pizza dough (or 1 for a smaller tree)
  • 1 container store-bought spinach dip (such as Cedars brand)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tree Shape:

    • Preheat oven to 400°F.
    • Roll out pizza dough and cut it into a large triangle shape for the tree. If using just one can of dough, cut additional triangles from the other side of the dough to form the tree’s top.
  2. Fill with Spinach Dip:

    • Spread store-bought spinach dip generously over the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  3. Cover with More Dough:

    • Use the second pizza dough (or leftover pieces from the first can) to cover the spinach dip. Shape it into a large triangle and use a pizza cutter to trim away excess dough, leaving a trunk in the middle.
  4. Cut and Twist the Tree:

    • Slice the sides of the tree to create strips from the trunk to the top, but don’t cut all the way through. Twist each strip into a spiral shape, making sure the trunk remains intact.
  5. Apply Egg Wash:

    • Brush the tree with a beaten egg wash to ensure it turns golden brown when baked.
  6. Bake:

    • Place the tree on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dough is golden and puffed up.
  7. Add Toppings:

    • Once out of the oven, brush the tree with melted butter. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning to add flavor and shine.
  8. Serve:

    • Transfer the tree to a cutting board and serve with additional spinach dip for dipping.
