Description
These homemade chocolate-covered strawberries are a delicious and elegant treat, perfect for Valentine’s Day or any special occasion, made with rich chocolate and a touch of white chocolate drizzle.
Ingredients
-
1 package fresh strawberries (about 12)
-
1 container chocolate melting wafers (or regular chocolate chips with ½ teaspoon coconut oil)
-
1 bag white chocolate candy melts
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- Wash and dry the strawberries thoroughly, holding them by the stem to keep them clean and dry.
- Melt the chocolate: Microwave the chocolate melting wafers (or regular chocolate chips) according to package instructions. Start with the milk or dark chocolate, following the directions, typically 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between.
- Dip the strawberries: Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip it into the melted chocolate, covering about two-thirds of the berry. Gently lay it on its side on the parchment paper.
- Refrigerate: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 10-20 minutes, allowing the chocolate to set completely.
- Melt the white chocolate: In a separate bowl, microwave about ¼ cup of white chocolate candy melts according to package instructions. Stir until smooth and fully melted.
- Drizzle the white chocolate: Use a fork to drizzle the melted white chocolate over the set strawberries in elegant lines.
- Optional variations: For extra flair, dip the strawberries in white chocolate first and drizzle with milk or dark chocolate. Or, top with sprinkles for a fun decoration.
- Serve and enjoy: Once the drizzle has set, your chocolate-dipped strawberries are ready to serve. Enjoy!
Notes
Budget-Friendly Tips:
- Use what you have: If you don’t have melting wafers, regular chocolate chips work just fine—just add a little coconut oil to make it smooth.
- Decorate with sprinkles: Instead of a drizzle, top the strawberries with festive sprinkles to add color and texture without extra effort.
- Make ahead: These strawberries can be stored in the fridge for a few days, making them a perfect treat to prepare in advance.
