Fudgy Brownies:
- 1 cup butter
- 8 ounces baking chocolate
- 5 eggs
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups walnuts
Chocolate Cream Frosting:
- 1.25 cups sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 5 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate
- 0.5 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a microwave-safe dish, melt 1 cup of butter and 8 ounces of baking chocolate for about 2 minutes, in the microwave (make sure to cover the dish).
- Grease a 9×13 pan and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl of an electric mixer, combine 5 eggs, 3 cups of sugar, and 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract. Mix well with the paddle attachment.
- Slowly incorporate the melted chocolate and butter into the egg mixture until fluffy.
- Add in the melted butter and chocolate mixture.
- Add 1.5 cups of all-purpose flour and mix until just combined.
- Fold in 2 cups of walnuts, if desired.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 45 minutes or until fudgy crumbs appear in the center.
- While the brownies are baking, prepare the frosting.
- In a saucepan, combine 1.25 cups of sugar and 1 cup of heavy cream. Simmer for 3 minutes until the sugar dissolves.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for an additional 7 minutes.
- Add 5 ounces of unsweetened baking chocolate, 1/2 cup of butter, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Stir until smooth and velvety.
- Let the frosting cool in the fridge, stirring every 5 minutes for 30 minutes.
- Once the brownies are done, let them cool before spreading the luscious chocolate frosting on top.
