Description
This elegant smoked salmon appetizer flower is a no-cook, budget-friendly appetizer perfect for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Mother’s Day brunch, or any festive gathering. Using just 4 oz of cream cheese, smoked salmon trim, and half a jar of black lumpfish roe, it looks fancy but is easy to assemble.

4 oz room temperature cream cheese

2-3 oz smoked salmon trim

1/2 jar (approx. 1-2 tbsp per serving) black lumpfish roe

1/4 cup Capers, for the center

Sliced red onion or scallions, for garnish

Sliced baguette or Parisian loaf bread, for serving
Instructions

Start with a round serving plate. Using the back of a small wooden spoon or knife, smear a line of cream cheese (about 1 tbsp) at the edge of the plate.

Continue smearing cream cheese lines in adjacent rows to form a flower shape, leaving the center empty.

On every other “petal”, place a small piece of smoked salmon trim.

On the alternating petals, place about ½ teaspoon of black lumpfish roe.

Fill the center of the flower with capers.

Sprinkle sliced red onion or scallions on top for color and flavor.
