- 1 large egg white
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 4 cups pecan halves (or walnuts)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 5 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together one large egg white and two teaspoons of vanilla extract until frothy (approximately 2 minutes).
- Add four cups of pecan halves (or walnuts) to the egg white mixture and stir well.
- Incorporate one cup of sugar, half a cup of brown sugar, and five teaspoons of cinnamon into the pecan mixture. Give it a thorough stir.
- Spray the slow cooker with cooking spray and pour in the pecan mixture.
- Cook on low for 3 hours, stirring every hour.
- When the pecans are about 30 minutes from completion, add 1/4 cup of water and stir.
- Once done, lay the candied pecans flat on a baking tray to dry.
