- 1 package of Ritz crackers
- 2 sticks of butter
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
- 2 cups of chocolate chips
- Sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Lay out a package of Ritz crackers on a foil lined baking sheet.
- In a saucepan, melt 2 sticks of butter, add 1 cup of sugar and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Stir constantly over medium heat until it comes to a boil. Continue cooking for about 7 minutes until it turns to a light brown color.
- Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla and pour the toffee mixture over the Ritz crackers.
- Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 13 minutes or until bubbly and brown.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle 2 cups of chocolate chips over the top. Wait for five minutes, allowing the chocolate to melt, and then spread it evenly.
- Add your favorite sprinkles on top for an extra festive touch.
- Allow the toffee to cool and harden for a couple of hours.
- Once set, break the toffee into delicious bite-sized morsels.
