  • 1 package of Ritz crackers
  • 2 sticks of butter
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 2 cups of chocolate chips
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Lay out a package of Ritz crackers on a baking sheet.
  2. In a saucepan, melt 2 sticks of butter, add 1 cup of sugar and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Stir constantly over medium heat until it comes to a boil. Continue cooking for about 7 minutes until it turns to a light brown color.
  3. Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla and pour the toffee mixture over the Ritz crackers.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 13 minutes or until bubbly and brown.
  5. Remove from the oven and sprinkle 2 cups of chocolate chips over the top. Wait for five minutes, allowing the chocolate to melt, and then spread it evenly.
  6. Add your favorite sprinkles on top for an extra festive touch.
  7. Allow the toffee to cool and harden for a couple of hours.
  8. Once set, break the toffee into delicious bite-sized morsels.
