- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- A sprinkle of red pepper flakes
- 1/2 cup water
- 8 oz pasta (e.g., gemelli or broken lasagna noodles)
- 1 can diced tomatoes (undrained)
- 1 cup pasta sauce
- Auntie Nono’s everything seasoning (to taste) – or salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded and divided
- Optional: 1/3 cup ricotta cheese

Preparation:
- Dice the onion.
- Heat 2 tbsp oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Cooking:
- Add diced onion and ground beef to the skillet; cook until beef is fully cooked through.
- Open cans and prepare spices while beef is cooking.

Seasoning:
- Drain grease from beef.
- Add water, pasta, diced tomatoes, pasta sauce, garlic powder, dried basil, oregano, red pepper flakes, and Auntie Nono’s seasoning.

Simmering:
- Simmer on low heat for 10-25 minutes (gemelli will take longer but broken lasagna noodles will cook in 10 minutes), or until the pasta is fully cooked through.

- Stir in 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.
- Optional: Add ricotta cheese and mix.
