As the summer season approaches and patriotic holidays draw near, it’s the perfect time to whip up something special in the kitchen that celebrates the spirit of America. What could be more fitting than combining two beloved classics – chocolate chip cookies and the iconic American flag design? In this Memorial Day Cookies recipe, I’ll show you how to create delightful and delicious cookies using refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough and Pillsbury’s American flag cookies. With minimal effort and maximum flair, these treats will be the star of any gathering on Memorial Day or 4th of July!

Making the Cookies:

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough
  • 1 package of Pillsbury American flag cookies
  • Parchment paper

Instructions:

    1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
    2. Line three baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent the cookies from sticking.
    3. Slice the chocolate chip cookie dough into 16 slices about 1/4 inch thick .(if you’re tube is large you’ll only need about half)
    4. Place 6 slices of the chocolate chip cookie dough on each prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly apart.
    5. Carefully unwrap the Pillsbury American flag cookies and place one disk on top of each flattened chocolate chip cookie slice.
    6. Place the baking sheets in the preheated oven and bake according to the instructions (12-15 minutes), until the cookies are golden brown and baked through.
    7. Once baked, remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool slightly on the baking sheets.
    8. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely or enjoy them warm for a gooey treat.
    9. Serve and enjoy these patriotic delights with friends and family at your next gathering or celebration!

Celebrate in Style!

With just a few simple steps, you can transform ordinary chocolate chip cookies into a patriotic masterpiece that will delight taste buds and dazzle eyes. Whether you’re celebrating Independence Day, Memorial Day, or simply showing your love for America, these red, white, and blue cookies are sure to be a hit. So grab your ingredients, preheat your oven, and get ready to savor the sweet taste of patriotism!
