Inside Out Egg Rolls

Description

These inside out egg rolls have fantastic flavor without all the deep fried calories and costs. Inexpensive ground turkey and cabbage come together with delicious pantry ingredients that will blow your mind.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 onion (diced)
  • 4 colves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger (or 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger)
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • sliced scallions (optional for topping)
  • hot sauce or chili crunch (optional for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the turkey and onions and cook until the turkey is fully cooked through.
  3. Add in the garlic and ginger and sautee for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the cabbage and stir.
  5. Pour in the soy sauce, sesame oil, and sugar and cook until the cabbage is wilted, about 3 minutes.
  6. Serve the egg rolls hot or portion them into meal prep containers.
  7. Top with scallions and hot sauce or chili crunch, if desired!

Notes

I reheat my refrigerated egg roll bowls for 2 minutes on high in the microwave.
