This recipe is a family favorite, French bread pizza. This french bread pizza recipe is highly underrated and can be made with whatever bread you have on hand. It can be a loaf of store bought french bread, Italian Bread, or even homemade french bread. I recommend either making homemade pizza sauce or picking up store-brand pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese.
You can also customize your pizza toppings to use up any leftovers you have in the fridge. Pepperoni is a classic choice. You could also try chicken, bacon, or even just cheese and veggies. Shopping for store-brand ingredients can save you a dollar or two per meal, which adds up to big savings over time. I made a whole video that includes this recipe and talks more about saving on food here.
How to Make This French Bread Pizza Recipe
To make your French bread pizzas, simply slice your bread in half. Place the bread on a baking sheet and spread pizza sauce on your bread. Once you spread your pizza sauce over the bread top with, cheese, and toppings. You can even add some garlic powde. Bake in the oven at 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes. It’s that easy! This recipe is perfect for using up stale bread or making a quick dinner without having to prep anything ahead of time.
How to Make it Even Better!
Another great way to save money on dinner is to make a simple salad to go with your meal. You can pick up a package of romaine lettuce or a pre-made salad mix to save time and money. This week, I found a bag of salad on manager special for $2.34. This was cheaper than buying a larger package of lettuce that we wouldn’t use up. Adding a simple side salad to your dinner is an easy way to make your meal more filling and nutritious.
And to make it even better, top your loaf french bread pizza with your favorite pizza toppings. You can even add a teaspoon of garlic powder, olive oil, or garlic butter to the bread before you add your sauce. These additions make it even more delicious. My favorite toppings are red pepper flakes and parmesan cheese.
How to Make it Budget Friendly
When shopping for groceries, it’s important to look for deals and compare prices on different brands. Store-brand ingredients are often just as good as name-brand items and can save you a lot of money in the long run. For example, I found a pack of pepperoni at the deli counter for $1.45, which was much cheaper than the name-brand options. You can also save money by shopping for clearance items or using store coupons.
Making pizza recipes at home doesn’t have to mean sacrificing flavor or nutrition. With a little creativity and some smart shopping, you can cut costs on your weekly grocery bill and still enjoy delicious and easy french bread pizza. By using store-brand ingredients, making simple salads on the side, and taking advantage of deals, you can save hundreds of dollars a year on dinner alone.
