Description

These football pigs in a blanket are the perfect game day or Super Bowl appetizer. Classic pigs in a blanket are arranged into a fun football shape, baked until golden, and brushed with a savory butter glaze. Easy to make, kid-friendly, and guaranteed to disappear fast at any football party.

Ingredients

Football Pigs in a Blanket

  • 1 package lil smokies (or regular hot dogs cut into thirds)

  • 1 package crescent roll dough (sheets preferred)

Butter Glaze

  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

  • 1 teaspoon grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Optional for Serving

  • Mustard

  • Ketchup

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Slice crescent dough sheet in half both ways, then cut each section into 10 strips (20 total).

  3. Place one lil smokie on each strip of dough and roll it up.

  4. Arrange the pigs in a blanket on the baking sheet in an oval football shape, slightly tapering the ends. Add a few pieces down the center if you’d like to mimic football laces.

  5. Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown.

  6. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

  7. Brush the butter glaze over the pigs in a blanket while warm.

  8. Serve immediately with mustard or ketchup.

Notes

Crescent dough sheets make assembly faster than perforated dough.

The football shape may shift slightly while baking — simply adjust before serving.

Assemble up to 24 hours ahead, cover, and refrigerate until ready to bake.
