1 package lil smokies (or regular hot dogs cut into thirds)
-
1 package crescent roll dough (sheets preferred)
Butter Glaze
-
2 tablespoons butter, melted
-
1 teaspoon grated Parmesan cheese
-
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
-
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
-
1/4 teaspoon pepper
-
1/4 teaspoon salt
Optional for Serving
-
Mustard
-
Ketchup
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Slice crescent dough sheet in half both ways, then cut each section into 10 strips (20 total).
-
Place one lil smokie on each strip of dough and roll it up.
-
Arrange the pigs in a blanket on the baking sheet in an oval football shape, slightly tapering the ends. Add a few pieces down the center if you’d like to mimic football laces.
-
Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown.
-
In a small bowl, mix melted butter, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
-
Brush the butter glaze over the pigs in a blanket while warm.
-
Serve immediately with mustard or ketchup.
Notes
Crescent dough sheets make assembly faster than perforated dough.
The football shape may shift slightly while baking — simply adjust before serving.
Assemble up to 24 hours ahead, cover, and refrigerate until ready to bake.
