These butterflied organic chicken drumsticks are a budget-friendly treat that delivers restaurant-quality flavor. Perfectly seasoned and cooked to crispy, juicy perfection in the air fryer, grill, or oven. Serve with your favorite sides like pasta salad, mashed potatoes, or potato salad for a complete meal.


Ingredients

  • 6 organic chicken drumsticks, butterflied

  • 12 tablespoons organic olive oil

  • Diamond Crystal salt, to taste

  • Fresh ground pepper, to taste

  • 1 tablespoon organic garlic powder

  • 1 tablespoon organic paprika

  • 1/2 tablespoon organic oregano or thyme

  • 1/4 teaspoon organic cumin

Optional for dipping:
Primal Kitchen ranch dressing or homemade ranch


Instructions

  1. Butterfly the Chicken Drumsticks:
    Carefully slice the meat of each chicken drumstick down the length of the bone (without cutting through the bone). Open the meat like a book. Repeat for all 6 drumsticks.

  2. Season the Chicken:
    Place the butterflied chicken in a bowl. Drizzle with organic olive oil and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, oregano (or thyme), and cumin. Massage the seasonings into the chicken to coat evenly. Let it marinate for 1 hour if possible, or proceed right away if short on time.

  3. Preheat the Air Fryer:
    Preheat your air fryer to 400°F. Once hot, arrange the chicken drumsticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket.

  4. Cook the Chicken:
    Air fry the chicken for 15 minutes on the first side. Flip and cook for another 10 minutes. Check the internal temperature of the chicken to ensure it reaches 165°F for safe consumption.

  5. Let it Cool and Serve:
    Let the chicken cool slightly before serving. For added flavor, dip in Primal Kitchen ranch or homemade ranch dressing.
