Really Easy Kidney Bean Chili

Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe·Leave a Review

As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisper, there’s nothing quite like a big, warm bowl of chili to chase away the chill. This homemade Kidney Bean Chili Recipe is a comforting classic, perfect for autumn. Packed with rich flavors and hearty ingredients, it’s a fall favorite that will leave your taste buds singing.

kidney beans and turkey chili in a bowl with a gold spoon

A Symphony of Flavors

This chili is a harmonious blend of savory goodness. It all starts with a base of diced onions and seasoned ground turkey, a healthier and sometimes less expensive twist on traditional beef. The combination of protein-rich turkey and fiber-packed kidney beans creates a satisfying and nutritious meal.

Simmered to Perfection

After a sauté of the onion and turkey, I add a mix of stewed tomatoes, tomato sauce, and just the right amount of seasonings. A touch of chili powder and garlic powder gives it that warm, spicy kick that chili is known for. If you like a little heat, don’t forget the red pepper flakes.

Comfort in a Bowl

Simmer the chili for about 15 minutes, letting all those flavors meld together. The result is a deep, complex chili that tastes like it’s been simmering for hours.

This hearty homemade kidney bean chili is a testament to the beauty of fall cooking. It’s comfort in a bowl, perfect for family gatherings or a solo meal by the fire.

I really like to serve mine along side this delicious butternut squash mac n cheese. But you can also top it with shredded cheese, a dollop of sour cream, or some fresh cilantro for extra flair. Fall is here, and our homemade chili is ready to help you savor every moment.
